Altar Servers

The primary role of the Altar Servers is to assist the priest in the celebration of the liturgy during Mass.

The Altar Servers are a group of boys and girls who have received their First Holy Communion. The majority of the children attend the local national schools. The Altar Servers in our parish are a dedicated group who assist our priests with reverence and dignity. Their contribution and participation in the Mass is greatly appreciated.

The Altar Servers meet at 3.15 p.m. on Thursday’s in St Patrick’s and Monday’s in St Brigid’s where they receive training and instruction. A monthly roster is in place in which the Altar Servers rotate the weekend Masses.

The group is constantly changing as the children grow. New members are always welcome.

St Joseph’s Young Priest’s Society exists to help student clerics on their journey to Priesthood. The Society fosters vocations to the priesthood and religious life. It assists students for the priesthood both financially and by prayer. It promotes the vocation of the laity and fosters a greater understanding and love of the Mass.

The Society holds prayer meetings for the vocations and arranges pilgrimages, Eucharistic adoration, vigils, seminars and retreats so that its members may give witness to Christian living.

The Society works through a branch group which is formed in the parish with the approval of the parish priest. Each branch meets monthly, to pray and to organise the Society’s activities in its community.

Celbridge Branch has been up and running for one year. Monthly meetings take place in the room beside the Sacristy every third Wednesday after the 7pm Mass. New members very welcome.
